Great to hear that the Sanheim injury was not as serious as everyone thought. The fact that he may be able to play in the upcoming series is a bonus - without a doubt. To the Buzzers out there with more medical knowledge - any longer-term risks with returning from a sprain on the MCL like this with 2 weeks rest? Thanks.

...And, no. the Flyers aren't moving on from Morin - as one poster likes to make us think.

Shusko getting the normal Euro treatment in a tournament. Poor kid should have said thanks but no thanks. But can't fault him for going thinking Lewis would play him all tournament.

I think I remember it written somewhere that he was advised to go over and play since he wouldn't get in for the Phantoms because of the playoffs.

It was a chance to play against some NHL competition there.

Morin is a kid, his body will heal close to 100%. Shut him down (no doubt they are), get him the surgeries/medical rehab/off season rest he needs and reset the clock at training camp.

I still think he earned an NHL job out of camp last season and all of these injuries and setbacks were just salt in his wounds.

He will be a crowd favorite in Philly for years to come.

:edit:

On a serious note I think Morin is one of the elements this team sorely needs. A big physical defensive presence who will hurt you if you get too close to the net.

Yes being serious Morin is exactly what this team is lacking. People get in front of the net and camp there too easily.

If there is even a slight risk that Sanheim could futher damage his knee by playing, I would think they'd shut him down. Gotta think Morin is going to need surgery and will be done until camp next fall.

Go Phantoms!

Absolutely!
He will be a big asset to the PK and in matching up against teams with big skilled forwards.

I just read the predators aren’t bringing back hartnell. His quotes seemed like he’s debating possibly retiring, I kinda felt bad reading them. I really liked him here.

Traded to Columbus for Umberger as a salary dump, then bought out. Nashville thought they needed his grit but he seemed not to be able to play every night for them. Might be he's reading the tea leaves.

Yeah, at 36, only got in to 62 games playing for a coach that likes him. 13 goals (semi respectable), 15.9 sh%, but in typical Hartnell fashion 82 pms.

And you can probably be sure they were of the "bad penalty" variety.

He had a good career.

Question for Bill - is Stolarz still practicing or have they shut him down for the season? He played 3 ECHL games and 1 AHL game, but that was back on March 24th.

This article covers it pretty well.

https://www.defendingbigd...prain-recovery-time-weeks

The good news is that unlike the cruciate ligaments, the collateral ligaments tend to heal relatively quickly and without surgery. And while they heal with scar tissue, the ability of the ligaments to bear load after the injury is not affected.

The timeline depends the nature of the injury and how the athlete's body responds to healing time. Grade I sprains of the MCL are usually two weeks or less to allows for the reduction of pain and swelling. There is no tear to the ligament at this grade, so the time allows for the reduction of swelling as well as the repair of any microtears in the ligament itself.

Grade II sprains (or partial tears of the ligament) and Grade III sprains (complete tears of the ligament) take a while longer to heal, from two weeks at the short end to eight weeks at the long end for professional athletes with access to high-end rehabilitation.

Re: Hartnell

Wonder how many players from his draft class are left in the league. Might not be a ton. IIRC, 2000 wasn't a great class

He was a good player. But Father Time remains undefeated
